Welcome to the long-awaited Vermillion project!

What started as the idle daydream of a graduate student in mid- to late-2013 is finally becoming a reality. The purpose of Vermillion is, ultimately, to help people save money. My initial vision was to harness playful competition in an effort to help people do just that.

My hope is that along the way people learn new skills and gain better control over their finances.

Saving is hard. But it’s important.

I’m not going to pretend that I can magically make saving easy or effortless – but I do believe that focusing hard on your finances can help build better habits. And whether you’re struggling with student loans, managing to make ends meet, or trying to better align your spending to your values – habits can help! And hopefully Vermillion can, too.
